Gatsby the Catsby

David informed me this morning that his brother Andrew and sister-in-law Helena lost their cat.  He is an awesome gray kitty with a lot of personality who comes to the name Gatsby.  David and I decided that we had to help them find their baby... I don't know what I'd do if I lost Linus, or my mom lost my Stella, so I can't imagine what they are going through.

Please forward this post on to everyone you know in the Charlotte, North Carolina area- specifically near Myers Park or Dilworth, and let's see if we can find their sweet kitty and get him back home where he belongs.
If you have information on Gatsby the Catsby, please contact Andrew Lopez at 704.774.7905 or at andrewflopez@gmail.com.

This Made My Day

This is such an inspiration... you've never lived until you've done something for another person just to see them smile.

Thanks for sharing this with me, Janet from the wonderful blog Tulip and Thelma!

Project Time!

This past couple of weekends we were so busy with our first project of the year, and although we are far from finished, we accomplished a lot!  This time we're working on the inside of the house, and we started by undertaking a little light remodeling of the room we currently use as a den.  We're actually going to be turning it into our office and finishing the basement as soon as this room is finished.  It's a big project and we're doing as much of the work we can on our own.

Over the weekend I was able to remove the old wallboard from the walls and get the room ready for the flooring guy to come in and remove the tile hidden under the carpet, grind and polish the cement floors for us.  Well, as it turns out, the company was able to do the flooring work on Sunday, and it was completely finished in one day!  They even removed the brick surround for us, which was no easy task.  We could hardly believe it.  Now we are all set for the remaining steps: replacing the windows, moving the return air vent, framing the walls, wiring the electrical (the current outlets are two prong and we need them to all be three prong, so we've decided to re-wire the outlets completely), and insulating (can you believe there was no insulation before?!), drywall, paint, and decorate which I'm hoping to accomplish by the end of the month.  It's already looking so much better and the room feels huge without that brick surround... wish us luck!

Oops!

Yesterday was Rabbit Rabbit day... only, I forgot.  It wasn't that I forgot so much, as I was so busy with a home remodeling project (I'll post the pictures tomorrow), by the time I got around to posting my blog it was after midnight and I was too exhausted to do another thing...

SO... be-lated Rabbit Rabbit day!

Have a wonderfully lucky month!

PS- Did you play any April Fool's Pranks?  I'd love to hear about them... I forgot all about that too!  Oh well there's always next year.
